oops... its been a while.

Well, it has been almost four months since the last time I blogged. I guess that I am not holding up to my promise as well as I had hoped. Oh well.
Since August there has been a lot going on... but I guess it didnt seem blog worthy until I sat down to think about everything that has happened in the last four months:

  • Russell and I celebrated our one year anniversary in Seattle! (Blog worthy!!!!)
  • We decided to keep one of the puppies who we named CJ (Picture worthy)
  • We are dog sitting another German Shorthaired Pointer for a few months. This brings our dog total up to five.....dog craziness (Blog worthy)
  • Experienced my first Black Friday with Kim and Deanna (kinda blog worthy)
  • And most recently, we went on a steelhead fishing trip up the Snake River. (Blog worthy)
I will expand on each of these with pictures and stories later. But for now, I'm off to church.

There's one in every crowd...

and Luke was that guy today. I wanted to take pictures of all the dogs, but everytime I snapped a shot Luke was in my face. I got a few funny ones of him... Enjoy!!

Dancing In The Wind....

It is laundry day and lucky for me it was very hot outside with lots of wind. Perfect weather for LOTS of laundry because they dry in no time. I was able to hang two loads of clothes and two loads of old bed sheets (those puppies sure do create a mess) all before the sun went down. Now... if I can only get Russell to put a middle support post so that my line doesnt sag to much, I'd be a happy camper.

I think the tractor should be green.

We are officially Summer Lake residents for the next 7 or 8 months! Of course we will be traveling back between Bend and Summer Lake a couple times a month but for the most part we will here.
There is so much work to be done around the ranch and our days are already becoming shorter. Russell started off the morning bright and early to prepare for a half day pheasant hunt. Normally, when Russ has to be up at 5am, I try to sneak in a few more hours of sleep but that did not happen this morning. Puppies were screaming, Lexi was on and off the bed, Luke and Hagen were making it very known that they wanted out of their crates, the sun was blaring in the window, my stomach was growling, dang it all I wanted to do was sleep. Oh well. Time to get to work.
I cleaned our house! Ha ha, I'd like to say that this was some kind of daunting task but our home is only a 24'x24' square room (that is half the size of our house in Bend). It is just large enough for the necessitates, but we like to pack it as full as we can possibly get it. It's a nice place, in fact I love my kitchen here over the one in Bend.
Anyway after the house was cleaned I set up a new place for the puppies. They are growing so quickly and everyday they change. On Wednesday they will be three weeks old! Only six more weeks and they will be ready for new homes. This thought makes me kinda sad. Hopefully, I will be a little more ready when the time comes.
So after hanging out with the puppies for a bit I make Russell some lunch and then he took a three hour nap.... Didnt I say that we have a huge list of things to do here and it was a work day. Oh well, I let him sleep and I read, paid bills, made our weekly dinner menu, planned our grocery list, and continued to read some more. In fact, I read half a book!!!
Well, I cant say that the whole working day was shot because we did go out and work on a trap shooting course that we are building for our guests. There are a total of ten stands. Five of which are setup to be a classic trap shoot then there are five other stands randomly placed for different types of shots. Once it is finished it will be a great addition to any of our hunts or any type of trips. Russell first assigned me to build a road and fix a walking bridge with the tractor. I love the tractor!! I confess. I am not too tractor savvy yet so it takes me a lot longer than it would Russ, but I enjoy doing it. I guess thats why he tell me to do it then he goes back and fixes it. Ha, Ha! I also helped to dig some holes for posts that we are using for stands. I dont love the post hole digger the way I love the tractor. You know.. I just wish the tractor was green, not blue. We finished up at about 9:00pm and had PB&J in hot dog buns for dinner. Ummm, high class dinner. Oh well, its better than nothing and tomorrow we are going into town for our groceries and such.

Another good day at the Ranch!!!
